Tournament of Neighboring

Welcome to the Tournament of Neighboring!

The Tournament of Neighboring is a month-long challenge that puts 64 simple acts of neighborliness into a tournament-style bracket. The concept is playful, the stakes are low, and the rewards are surprisingly big.

Our bracket features 64 practical neighboring ideas—from hosting a driveway chat, to sharing homemade goodies, to helping an elderly neighbor with a chore. The ideas are either playful or heartfelt but all are designed to build connection. If you click on each idea, you will find a description with links to resources. So feel free to try them all! However, your job in the tournament is to VOTE! Choose the act of neighboring in each match-up that you would most likely do for your neighbors. When all of the votes are counted the winner will advance to the next round until the final act of neighboring has been selected.

When the tournament is over, we challenge you to DO the final act of neighboring. Let us know that you did it and you will send you a free gift in the mail.

Voting will take place on the following days:
  • March 19-20 – Round of 64
  • March 21-22 – Round of 32
  • March 26-27 – Sweet Sixteen
  • March 28-29 – Elite Eight
  • April 4 – Final Four
  • April 6 – Championship
